tf2 turns purple and black

So I'm having an issue - every so often, my TF2 starts showing a translucent purple and black background. I can't pinpoint what event causes it, but it stays until I exit the server.
It looks like this:

I use Chris' highframes and eggHUD.
Is there anyone who is having those issues, and is there a way to fix them? Thanks!

Purple and black squares is always missing textures I think, I sometimes have it randomly at cp_sunshine. Although this looks a bit different, restarting tf2 always fixes the problem for me.

Do you have a AMD GPU or CPU?

I'm not sure if it's the GPU or the cpu but if you use post processing effects it causes that overlay and happens more often when you have the extra threading

"r_queued_post_processing 1" should be 0

plus

"mat_colcorrection_disableentities 0
mat_colorcorrection 0"

Make sure that is also 0

make sure you install the materials folder of your hud if it has one

I have an Intel and NVIDIA rig and r_queued_post_processing 1 causes this for me. Try changing it to 0 like Comanglia suggested.

Switched to EJP-HUD 1.4, along with Comanglia's suggestions. Problem appears to be fixed.

Looks to me like you have a hud overlay that isn't being found by the game and it's rendering the missing texture file, stretched and transparent.
