Hey guys, recently just randomly mumble overlay has stopped working, and yes I know I have to start mumble before TF2, but it still does not work
Enable overlay? Manually point the overlay to tf2?
Did you change what dx level you're launching tf2 in?

I changed it 8, then back 9 recently

-nod3d9ex launch option was salient to it working on my setup. AFAIK it disables some Directx9 external rendering. It can have a positive effect on FPS for some.
If that doesn't work then try an older version of mumble. Worked for me when nothing else would.
yea i'm on 1.2.4 and it's always worked for me (with the starting mumb b4 tf2 thing)
what is the problem with it? ive been having a problem too, where my overlay shows up as white boxes instead of words

that happens to me when i heavily change graphical settings, like by executing an fps config. i'm not sure exactly what changes break the overlay, but when i restart tf2 it works again

I fixed this last week. Go to your mumble overlay exceptions and make sure hl2.exe is not blacklisted. Your welcome. Go with christ.

Do you know where I can find a safe version of 1.2.4 mumble?

you can get all versions of mumble off of sourceforge
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mumble/files/Mumble/1.2.4/
just make sure not to "accept" any toolbars and you'll be kosher
