sunshine isn't fundamentally bad (even though I hate it), but metalworks really is, map is just poor by design.

Yeah metal is significantly worse than gran right now and given that dagger is working on a pro granary, I think granary will only get better. However there are no good replacements for the maps right now
Personally I find metalworks a great map, I really enjoy the back and forth of it, And how scouts aren't as strong . Its a great map to watch for me as its very back and forth, if you wiped on a last push you could easily get pushed back to your second. I find that a really nice dynamic. My dislike is some of the buggy lighting, but, Source engine :), if theres something that bothers you, you can always leave feedback and Scorpio seems fairly keen on keeping it alive. http://teamfortress.tv/thread/5723/cp-metalworks-feedback-thread/?page=1

map list is good. if ur having a long stalemate on metalworks, u solo ubers, see what happens, then repush. u guys just dont know how to effectively push. u have to be decisive and confident on the repush since the map is chokey and punishes u for just lingering in a choke and not doing anything. there is less room for error. this is the case for granary and even gullywash. like, ppl are saying the map is poorly made, but they dont even know how to play the game in the most effective way.
