I'm just shocked to hear the news too.
I wanted this to be a cruel joke so badly.
That Wii(U)? Unboxing video he made with the gloves, talking about how they were like Mario's, it was just so charming.

Sad to hear that he passed, especially after his successful surgery. Rest in peace.
he's done sooo much for Nintendo over the years, such a shame :[
Couldn't believe it when I saw it, myself.
RIP Iwata =[
RIP Iwata =[
I thought it was fake at first, until someone linked a statement from the official nintendo website and the news started like 2 hours ago. Rest in peace; you will be remembered for all you did for Nintendo, Iwata. (⌣_⌣)
My favourite Iwata joke/meme will be from when the 3DS came out: http://i1042.photobucket.com/albums/b424/Ronanfalcon/Net%20Images/Games/3DS-It-Prints-Money.gif
Great guy, and did so much for Nintendo. He will be missed.

He was an amazing programmer. He was specifically the one that was able to get Kanto into Pokemon Silver and Gold. He used some voodoo magic to compress Johto enough. Of course, this is in addition to bug testing smash bros while president, took personal pay cuts to keep staff on, and many more amazing things. Nintendo will never be the same.
He'll always be remembered, in our hearts and souls.
RIP Iwata, legend

He reprogrammed Earthbound (my 2nd favourite game after Mother 3, it's sequel) singlehandedly from scratch saving the project after others had given up. Those games have had a pretty big impact on me and I'm grateful he made it happen. And that's just one of the things Iwata did for Nintendo. RIP a great man.
Damn tragic...
