g400s vs g402

I've been using the g400s for forever and its starting to break. I was going to just rebuy it but I see that the g402 is similar with improvements and cheaper. Should I just get a g402 or rebuy the g400s? Also please suggest me any mice that are similar/better.

Also I have a claw grip so mouse shape isn't a huge issue, but I did notice that the g400s is a tiny bit big/heavy.

g402 doesn't feel the same at all for me, you might enjoy trying to get used to another mouse but I've spent months trying to change to another mouse and I'm back to using my g400s. I spent months trying to get used to the ec2-a, g402, and za-11 but i could never get as comfortable or hit as many shots. I'd just buy another g400 if I was you cause g400 was my first mouse for games too and it sucks to play bad cause ur trying to get used to a mouse ur not experienced with.

g402 for me feels very similar to the g400/s, I just disable the dumb new buttons they added for the 402

The G402 did not feel like a G400S to me, a G502 on the other hand feels more simliar. As a claw gripper I find the G302/G303's shape horrible, But the G303 has the same sensor as a G502 ( which is AMAZING). so there's that.

arent g402 and g502 having the same sensors?

No. G402 uses a modified g100s sensor, while the g502 uses a brand new sensor that only it and the g303 have.

Personally I'd kill to have a g400s with the g502 sensor, (I've been considering tearing apart my g303 and g400s to do it, but I don't want to be left without a mouse.

If G402 had a 3366 all mice companies are probably bankrupt by now.

the difference is pretty nominal really but some people feel like the 3366 (g502) is a little more raw than the 3090 (g400). however you can perform really well with both and at that point shape/weight/other considerations matter more (to most people anyway)

Quikbut how is g502 sensor is better compared to g400?

g400 vs g502

G400 qualities
Maxtracking speed : ~3.5m/s
LOD: 4mm-5mm (guess based on prior ownership)
Weight: 105g (without cable)
Native DPIs: 400 / 800 / 1800 / 3600 (not 100% sure on the last 2)

g502
Maxtracking speed: ~7m/s (significantly better)
LOD: ~1.2mm (depends a tad on preference but typically lower is better)
Weight: 121g (without cable) (worse, typically lower is better)
Native DPIs: Reporting as having every DPI between 200 and 12,000 at 50 DPI increments is a native step which would make it significantly better.

Seems like the only difference is LOD, wich is not that crucial for me. About maxtracking speed, i was never able to reach it on my g400.
