imo Frictional Games is probably the best horror game dev company at the moment and anything they create is worth your time.

It supposedly has brilliant narratives and philosophy about the human condition (which sounds SO pretentious to say) and also plays very similarly to their previous hit, Amnesia: The Dark Descent.

Bought it, waiting for tonight to play it for maximum spooky.

Mod support out of the gate is pretty dope too, can't wait to see what people come up with in this game.

watched it on brostream yesterday for a few hours. looks like a really good aesthetic and rich yet subtle narrative. definitely not as scary as amnesia (from the parts i saw), and they still have that awful click and hold mechanic for opening things, but overall looks really good.

From streaming it last night, i would say it's less scary, but i really like the ambiance. It's very subtil but the sound effects are amazing, even better than Amnesia imo. The story is also very very nice! Lot of questions pop's into my head while playing. I like the game so far. I have heard it takes around 10-11 hours to complete.

I'll probably buy it and stream it this weekend. Looks fun, and i get spookied by horror games.

fatswimdudewatched it on brostream...and they still have that awful click and hold mechanic for opening things,...

I liked the click/hold mechanic for opening things, it controlled fine once you were used to it. I feel it also adds tension because its not instant, you feel like you're the one opening the door/moving the object etc.

yeah i appreciate that it's supposed to increase tension, but to me it always felt less realistic, as if i had two fingers and no elbow and just flailed my arm to open things, like i was playing a game like surgeon simulator. that lack of immersion on top of the inefficiency made me not like it very well.
