Tried battlefront with eulogy this evening. Took me 30 minutes or so to get the hang of it. Then started just destroying people. It almost felt like we were playing bots they were so bad lmao! This game is fun as hell. Played it for like 3 hours straight my first time. I love flying with the jet pack and dive bombing people lol.
I did notice some absolutely insane multi-monitor glitches. Anytime I alt-tabbed it would put the game in a windowed mode which was in a small window about 1/2 the resolution of my monitor. Then when I clicked on the game on the task bar to open it back up again, the game decided to fullscreen in my 2nd (non-gaming) monitor. Very strange behavior. Also had my mouse pointer jump out of game to my second monitor a few times. I'm curious if other multi-monitor users have experienced these glitches?

This game would actually have been perfect if they had made just made an updated Battlefront II.
As it stands now it's just so unlike the great formula of the Battlefront II that I don't even care enough to download the beta.
Maybe things will be different with the full release, but considering this went up only like a month before it I would be shocked.

I really wanted to like it. But...
Battlefront 2 had interesting, arena-style maps with many ways to get around.
Battlefront has huge flat Battlefield maps with half the players bunched up in one half and a good 30% chance of getting sniped before ever seeing the battlements.
Battlefront 2 had balanced vehicles you could pick up at spawn and leave wherever you like for your teammates to take, and you could switch to gunner/driver depending on your and your copilots' skills. There were tons of different vehicles that all played completely differently, and were different for each faction. Literally dozens of different vehicle playstyles to choose from.
In Battlefront you pick up an upgrade to get teleported into a fighter that's only good for taking down other fighters until you get shot down.
In Battlefront 2 there were tons of ways to make creative plays with your vehicle, like getting an escorted bomber over the enemy's player or vehicle spawn. You could also steal the other team's vehicles and troll noobs by pretending to be on their team.
In Battlefront you just shoot at people until you get destroyed.
In Battlefront 2, vehicles of all sizes had strengths and weaknesses against other vehicles and different types of grenades and bombs. ATATs and other large vehicles felt like a genuine threat but never OP. You could take down EVERYTHING on your own if you had the skills.
In Battlefront, the ATAT is Godzilla and can't even be attacked until an objective is reached, giving everyone inside effortless free kills for half the round.
In Battlefront 2, classes had a tf2-level of diversity, each had a unique feel to it, and unlocking commander classes felt genuinely rewarding. Skills at your class mattered in a way that I've only encountered in tf2 since.
In Battlefield, everyone runs around with an SMG, a sniper rifle and a jetpack.
Battlefront 2 had a great minimap that allowed your team to actually coordinate.
Battlefront's minimap is garbage.
Lastsly, Battlefront 2's CP game mode is simply superior to Battlefront's confusing A/D system, which, coupled with the atrocious minimap, leads to everyone running around without a clue.
These are just a few select points off the top of my head; there are more. But from what I saw, I really wish they had just remade Battlefront 2 instead of Battlefield 3.
EDIT: Oh right, and in Battlefront 2, Heroes were awarded to top players, a great mechanic to actually encourage you to play well. In Battlefront, it's just an upgrade that's an inferior version to the ATAT upgrade. It just gives you a little fewer free kills.

It just feels like it's only a quarter of the game it could and should be. Even if it's the shiniest and best optimized quarter of a game, I'm not going to pay 70€ for a quarter of a game.

Still applies.
And then there's the problem that it feels more like Battlefield than Battlefront.
Don't fix what ain't broken is ok, you can keep rereleasing the same game over and over again as a series if people keep buying it, but that doesn't mean when you're working on a new game/series you should keep doing that. It just seems like someone at EA had the idea "There's new Star Wars film, let's cash in on the hype before anyone can be dissapointed by it, by releasing a Star Wars game. We've got the Star Wars Battlefront license, do we have any studio that made a similar game? Battlefield is basically the same, right? Multiplayer fps, almost the same name, it's basically the same game! Yeah that should work."

This is like the Battlefield Hardline of the Battlefront series.
Pros:
- Incredibly Easy to pick up and play
- Fun to pubstomp
- Card system concept (though needs tweaked)
- Endless potential for DLC (will link this to con's)
Cons:
- No server browser (lolz) - they talked about doing this when BF4 came out and it got literally laughed out the wood-works. You would think they would have learned but oh well
- Third person breaks the fuck out of this game. As a hardcore BF3/BF4 player, learning the different weapons, recoil, spray patterns in aimed/hip fire is part of the fun and skill. Third person eliminates all of this. You can equip the e19 assault rifle, bhop all over the fucking map and just shit on people. You don't even have to be good.
- Endless potential for DLC - the Dice special. You can either pay around $100 up front for deluxe to ensure you get your quarterly (ha) DLC, or you pay $15 per DLC pack thus turning a $60 game into a $120-150 dollar game and take it in the ass for the long run.
- Vehicles take 0 skill...you can sit in an AT-AT all round and go 60-0. Even flying vehicles, which in the BF series even separated the great from the elite, take very little skill. I mean i understand making things easier but come on.
- Heroes - still not sure the point of this other than you get to see lightsabers. I mean there's really no purpose otherwise...i'm hoping they somehow link heroes to the objectives in the actual game.
- No campaign....this to me was the most shocking of all. My god even hardline had a campaign even though it was terrible.
- Class system - though the card system concept peaked my interest, having classes just makes so much more sense. This further breaks the skill gap in the game, and the concept of creating strategies to help win objectives.
I really hope Dice can turn this around like BF4. BF4 had all kinds of issues when it came out, but when the LA division of Dice actually started listening to the community they fixed a lot. Hardline was highway robbery in every sense of the term. Battlefront has that same feeling - yes i know it's beta but with the release about a month a way i can't say my hopes are high. I really do want to like this game but won't fall for this trap a second time.
