I'm currently rocking an i5-3570k. I'm going to be putting that CPU and motherboard in my wife's PC, so it's time to get a new mobo and CPU for myself. I'll be pairing it with my GTX 780. Recommendations? I mostly play games but will also be doing some light video and photo editing.
Which CPU to buy as an upgrade to a 3570k?

I'm not building a new rig, just need to pick a CPU. Thanks, though.

Title's kind of a misnomer, that thread is full of people willing to give solid advice on PC parts. Doesn't need to be just about a full build.

i7 4790K is on sale for $299 on Newegg for Black Friday. I'd say that's a reasonable upgrade.

Do you even need to upgrade?
Figure out how much more power you need.
Still, light editing should be fine and fps in games won't improve either if it's already overclocked, so I don't see the need to upgrade.
