I'm going to be creating an interview series (along with a helper or two) with top players in the scene of all continents, similar to Reflections by Thorin or various other longer interview series.
The general idea is going to be around 30 minutes discussion about the history of an important player, what they've done, how they've developed and their thoughts on various topics.
Before I begin creating these and really formalising plans I thought it best to reach out and gather any ideas from the community on how you'd like to see these done. If you've any experience watching other people do these from other scenes and have ideas on how to make them better/more interesting/good for TF2 then speak up!

A focus on making it different than fully charged and backcap is incredibly important. A lot of forum posts on tftv ask some very fun creative questions of the community that would surprisingly be very entertaining interview questions.

During the interview, have player's demo from a scrim/official playing in the background, so people can watch something during the interview? Alternatively a frag video/movie(s) of that player if one exists, assuming they have a good quality of course.
End each interview with 3 general questions like: 1. How do you think Matchmaking is going to influence Competitive Tf2? 2. What should we do to attract more players into the scene? 3. Expectations? Just an example
And questions from the community, announce next week's player you're going to interview and at the end of the video, ask people to give questions to that player, then just pick some of them for the next interview.

Yeah this would be different from backcap in almost every way, it wouldn't be about current material. And again rather than discussing topics as the main focus (like on FC) this series would be mainly focused on the player themselves and their history.

Face cams would be nice like the old mygamingedge interviews.

Deer did a pretty cool thing like this about 6 months ago. I think it has like a similar format to what you're trying to aim for maybe? I really enjoyed the podcasts that Deer ended up doing, but I think he has since discontinued the series. I would love to have someone else start up another series that interviews players to replace it.

A bit like that, yeah, but with more prominent people in the scene and with webcam visuals for both myself and the interviewee. I think that's the best option for visual stimulation at the moment, which seems to be the biggest thing missing from previous attempts to do this in TF2, but if people really wanted in-game footage of the person we could. I just think that would distract or not be relevant.

I like the visuals of Reflections, don't think in game footage is necessary. Maybe throw a few frags at the beginning or end to show off some of the player's highlights but I don't think there needs to be game footage during the interview.

What length do you think people would watch TF2 interviews for?
10 minutes like a short snippet, 2 hours like Reflections, or some value in between?

I think however long you want it to be works. When you upload the video/vod you should tag each question accordingly to the minute/second like Thorin's videos.
