Hey, so I have temporarily moved back to my mom's house for a month or two, where the internet isn't as great as where I normally live. It isn't terrible, I get around 1 mb/s download, and I can play most games just fine. My ping is tolerable whenever I pub or DM or MGE. Whenever I play comp or a pug though, my ping spikes to anywhere between 300 and 600, usually after a couple minutes of playing. This has been at different times in the day, and the only other person who could potentially be using the internet is my mother. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Are you on WiFi or ethernet cable?
Have you tried setting TF2 to the highest priority on QOS?

I tried changing my net settings (I use comanglia's config) from "good connnection" to "bad connection". Tonight in scrims, my ping was around 100 - 300 in pregame to a dallas server, usually around 100 so it was playable. After a round in, it jumped up to between 300 - 600 for the rest of the scrim. Immediately after the scrim ended it fell back down to 90. We had a scrim before that where it was fine the whole time, but that server was weird as it didn't have logs, sizzling stats, or a recent config at all. Any help with this would be appreciated! It's really frustrating because i can't scrim or pug at all.
kaneWhat's your upload? Might be because of mumble. Try to turn down compression in mumble settings.
I had similar problem, turning down the quality of mumble helped a little, but my internet was pretty bad in first place.

I'll try to turn down compression.

I'm using an ethernet cable. I'll try setting TF2 to the highest QOS but I think it's already high if not highest.

Different rate settings from the configs maybe? Or something related demo recording if you autorecord (no idea how that could possibly affect ping but, it's a thing that could be different only in mp_tournament games -- maybe if you sync files to Dropbox or something)?
Had the same issue a few years ago, 400 ping on all competitive servers. The thing that fixed it for me was completley reinstalling the game.

Well i guess the timing is good on this then, since I am building a really nice new PC on saturday. If the problem persists even on the new PC i'll update the thread. Looking forward to having good frames while streaming!
FireDoes net_graph 4 look like this https://youtu.be/LF73nCyaiXA?
I had the feeling that it only happened in comp as well, idk it fixed itself after some months...
yeah it looks like that, except a bit worse

i use PREC but don't sync or upload files to dropbox or anything, but it's tf2 and the bugs in this game are weird so it could be literally anything
