Qatar's flag is also really simplistic but uses nice colors and good simple design.

The problem with Qatars flag is that it uses a very strange ratio

Black-Red-Gold was used since like 1300, Black-White-Red was introduced in 1850 after the failed revolution who also used Black-Red-Gold as their flag. Also Black-Red-Gold got a nice meaning during the wars against Napoleon: From darkness, through blood into the light.
