Codecademy is actually really interesting and helpful. Very interactive. I'd play around on it.

If you want to learn it for fun, just go with Python. It's a very lightweight, beginner friendly language that even has a few advantages over your typical 3rd generation language. The syntax is much more like a speaking language over Java, the next language I would recommend you investigate. The syntax is the whole reason I recommend it, because you won't spend a lot of energy fixing Bracket errors or missing semicolons. There's just less to have to pack into it to make it work the same as Java and getting to understand where you can modify data and how is when you'll really kick it into high gear.
