Doing some window shopping right now and I'm not sure which to buy. $400 budget (if possible).
edit: now to think about it, I probably really don't need gsync, so ignore that.

I use this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009729
a bit over budget but it's what I use
Gsync is well worth the extra money if you can afford it
here's one for 400$. I have it and it's good.

I have the same one, but warning:
If you get a G-Sync Monitor, you will not be able to play at 144 Hz. The closer to the 144 Hz monitor framerate cap you go, the higher the frame stutter and input lag.
See: http://www.blurbusters.com/gsync/preview2/
Accoriding to their chart from CS:GO, (closest Source game to TF2 they tested) fps_max 120 is optimal. fps_max 143 gives more input lag, and they didn't mention the frame stutter.
If you don't mind having 120 Hz G-Sync, (it's smooth as hell, so nice) get that one. It's really nice and the color is good.
Edit: Frame Stutter only occurs with fps_max over 145 or fps_max 0
