Custom HUD's not working.

I can't use any HUD other than default without my game crashing.

Whenever I change huds, it says that I'm missing the file scripts/items/items_game.txt, but no custom hud has that file.

Am I missing something obvious, or is this as fucked up as I think it is?

I've tried that and it does nothing; it doesn't even notice a problem.

I had that exact error and verifying it is what fixed it for me.

Perhaps try deleting all of your custom files (or just move them elsewhere) and then verifying the game files/cache.

Thanks Dance for the idea, just deleting my custom folder then making a new one fixed it.
