I think Highlander as a gametype, especially for people that main a class that is considered an offclass in the 6s meta, has a lower skill ceiling than 6s TF2. That doesn't mean that HL players are bad, but it does mean they don't have the experience and foresight to deal with 2 bombing soldiers and 2 zombie scouts pushing and hitting every shot against them without a sentry, heavy and pyro to defend them. 6s is a much more DM focused gametype and thus relies much more on the individual skill of each player. It's all relative. Take your "top HL" experience as a sniper to an invite tryout and tell me how that goes. I should never lose to you, it doesn't matter how good you are. I have to be better than you because that's the standard I hold myself to, even if it's wrong. I am a competitor and I believe that every game is winnable. You probably believe the same, but your argument sounds like "fuck this 10 time ESEA invite and 2 time world champion idiot, I'm better than him :'(". Big difference.
I never really argued that HL is a better or more skilled gametype at all, although I do agree with your analysis. I just think it's amusing how much you've assumed about my personality. I've played multiple seasons of ESEA by now and have been actively grinding to get better at scout (not that I or anyone else should really expect you to keep up with such things).
I never even was actively arguing any of these things really, all I was doing was poking fun at you being upset about losing a pug to someone who was formerly an HL main like myself. B4nny process started off really fast with you guys seeming to have a lot of momentum early on, and I think bar a few mistakes you guys would have taken a quick 3-0 half. However it really quickly devolved into the slow pace that we were familiar with from the first 3 maps. Was it a conscious decision on your part to slow things down or do you think not making the most of those early opportunities allowed Ronin back into the map?

Every one of b4nny's responses in this thread has emphasized a) how he mentors people and makes himself constantly available on stream, b) how racist and homophobic showstopper/ash/etc. can be, and c) describing himself as a reasonable person who is willing to respond when provoked. All three of these may be true to varying degrees (the first two clearly are), but it's irrelevant, and I think people don't like him trying to justify his actions so heavily. Platinum had the luxury of just not giving a fuck.
