Anyone have experience using a DIY keyboard kit and can give recommendations for kit/advice on how to not fuck up?

Ideally would like a TKL layout but I wouldn't be opposed to 60%

EDIT: LEDs would be cool too but not necessary. So something like the whitefox I guess.
