In less than 24 hours, four of the best teams in Europe will converge at the DreamHack Summer 2016 Invitational in Jönköping, Sweden to fight for the title of the best team in Europe. There’s going to be a ton of TF2 action coming up, and we’ve put together a viewer’s guide to help you throughout the hectic weekend.
Teams
A plethora of teams competed in the DreamHack open qualifiers to fight for a coveted spot at the event. After months of some high adrenaline matches, four teams have earned themselves the right to compete at the biggest LAN in Europe. They are:
- nameLess (qualified)
- Perilous Gaming (qualified)
- Crowns Esports Club (invited)
- Comfortably Spanked (invited)
Format & Rules
Just like DreamHack Winter 2015, the tournament will utilize the usual double-elimination bracket. Every fixture, with the exception of the Grand Finals, will be a best of three, with the Grand Finals being a best of five. All fixtures will also be using a map elimination system, where teams can pick and ban maps for each fixture.
All rules and whitelists for this tournament will be based on the current ETF2L Season 24 rules. Check the rules page and whitelist page for more info.
Map Pool
Speaking of maps, the map pool will consist of the ETF2L Season 24 map pool. There’s no Gravel Pit this time around (thank you Sideshow!) but we also have a new map in the mix: cp_reckoner, which was recently added to the ETF2L map pool to replace Sunshine. Other than that, everything else is more or less the same. The map pool will be:
- Badlands
- Snakewater
- Process
- Product
- Reckoner
- Gullywash
- Granary Pro
Prize Pool
The $3000 prize pool, which has been generously donated to by Sweetstakes.tf & Plantronics, will be distributed as shown:
- 1st: $1110
- 2nd: $780
