There's nothing quite like crawling around with no legs and putting points into swimming in the modern era of gaming.

The original Deus Ex is one of my GOATs. Human Revolution was a great game too, hampered only by its lackluster ending sequence and boss fights, that were the only reason you still needed to carry lethal weapons.

I tried Invisible War for a bit, but stealth seemed to be utterly useless and the 90s toon-like art style was awful. The inventory was massively consolized, too. I'll still try it again later down the line; from what I understand there are still decent things about it.

Mankind Divided - haven't played it, but from everything I've read and heard it's a game that really suffered from Square-Enix's management:

  • Has an outsourced multiplayer mode that heavily pushes MTX.
  • Has a confused plot that ends abruptly, feeding into Jim Sterling's report of rumors that suggest Squeenix are heavily pushing towards splitting perfectly good AAA games into pieces, as evidenced by Hitman 2016 and the FFVII remake.
  • Oh, and that PR disaster of a preorder campaign.

According to Super Bunnyhop, the level design is the only thing that could be called solid in this game. Watch his perfectly spoiler-less review:

Sad to see such a mighty franchise (that's clearly in the right studio's hands, as evidenced by Human Revolution) get dragged down from its potential heights by the astoundingly stupid business decisions of its panicked publisher.
