i read bad reviews about the acer, so thats outta the question. I want to get the benq but they are over $400, can u guys reccomend the best ones out there atm.

most cheaper monitors with 120hz (lcd) have terrible input lag - so i'd say the extra 50-100 dollars is def worth it. i got my benq for $320 onsale on boxing day.

benq is a more boutique brand while asus is more mass producy. the asus also came out quite a bit after the benq which uses the same panel and it lacks some features that the benq has installed.

If you mean asus as in their discontinued 120hz monitors, they were basically XL2420T with colors that aren't complete shit (only due to poor factory calibration). BenQ's are more mass produced though, but they also have more features. But those were the old monitors.
The 2 best monitors to get right now is Asus VG248QE, and BenQ XL2411T. Both of them has height adjust, can be flipped to portrait mode, etc. I'd get the Asus because it has this new feature that allows to you enable a custom crosshair overlay. BenQ has black equalizer though, which I personally find useless.
They both use the same panel, offers 144hz, and has lightboost. Both will retail for $300. The BenQ is being advertised as 120hz mainly because it's already a more established standard, but it is in-fact 144hz capable.
