I've just got into the competitive scene and I just needed some clarification. If something works in sv_pure 2 then does that mean it's allowed? For example I use transparent viewmodels, no explosion smoke script and custom animations/animation overhauls which all work in sv_pure 2 serves and idk if I can actually use some of these so if someone could help a noob out that would be great :3

I think all the stuff you had mentioned should work, but I'm not entirely sure about custom animations. Some may be allowed and some may not be. If all else fails you'll just be stuck with the stock animations which aren't exactly the worst

Clarify with an admin but this should sum up the rules pretty well:
UGC Official Rules
- 7.3 The use of ANY external program, wrapper or hook, be it a modified .dll, an .exe injecting hook, or ANY file or program that hooks on to the source engine and gives a player additional HUD information, attributes, abilities, or significantly alters gameplay is ILLEGAL and BANNABLE. This includes specifically (but not limited to) the use of a wallhack, aimbot, autodet, anticonc, speedhack, third person view, esp of any type, radar of any type, and trueaim ("sniper dot" for non-sniper classes.)
- 7.4 Using the server or console commands to give any part of your team an unfair advantage is cheating. This does not include scripts regarding flag status, class status, health status, incoming calls, or the like. If you are in doubt about a particular script, post it on our forum for advance approval by an admin.
In essence, as long as your custom content doesn't give you a significant advantage via something like a game exploit, it's not against the rules. The explosion script is pretty much just cosmetic in TF2 because smoke isn't considered a part of gameplay like in CS.

consider that stabby's sens/fov zoom script is perfectly allowed, the ugc rules on custom stuff like that is pretty lenient
