Currently have an MSI R7 250 OC (the 2GB DDR3, not 1GB DDR5)
Gives me 400FPS in 720p min settings felik's config tf2, and about 150 while streaming 720p60fps same tf2 settings.
Problem is, it only has single link DVI so can only pump out a max of 75hz from my monitor (even then at stretched wierd 4:3 resolutions).
Can anyone give me some ideas of what I can upgrade to that'll support my PG248QE and give me equal frames or better).
Budget is sub 200 USD, was thinking about RX 460 2GB or GTX 1050 ti but was gonna see if anyone had other recommendations.
Edit: CPU is FX-6300

Holy shit, tf2 is truly cpu bound, I have a much better graphicas card than your, the 750 ti, but my fps lowers when shit hits the fan during fights. Looks like I'm gonna have to upgrade somehow from my core 2 duo.
This where Setsul will come, but personally, I would spend just a little more and get the rx480, granted you have a power supply that can handle it.

My power supply is a 350W piece of garbage lol. no PCI-E power connectors and just enough sata power connectors (3) to actually power my drives. Everything is plugged into something, though I'm upgrading that as well This christmas.

^ i doubt you need an rx480 if you're only updating now because of your monitor
also the 750ti isn't a much better graphics card but its like $100, very slim power requirements and has a dual link dvi-i and a dual link dvi-d. basically just go for the cheapest one of these you can find i guess (except zotac/palik, they're less reputable brands)
just saw your post about no power supply cables, you CAN get 750tis that can draw power only from the mb though they're harder to find, personally id spend most of the extra money on a new power supply (especially if your current one is old and from a less reliable brand)

Console My power supply is a 350W piece of garbage lol.
You can get a 600w power supply off of ebay for roughly $30. Pretty cheap. I don't know much about GPUs though so I don't think I'd be much help there.

Also getting it to boost my performance when streaming since GPU encoding on OBS is a thing and TF2 mainly uses CPU resources.

1. Single Link DVI should support 120Hz at 720p
2. There is no PG248QE. Do you mean the VG248QE?
3. The 250 already supports GPU encoding.
Cheapest GPU with Dual Link DVI would be a 250X.
