just got a rapid i with browns and i love it, what do you mean is it worth buying? is there something you dont like about it based on what you've read?

I was just really keen on getting reds but they're out of stock everywhere... but browns are the same with a little more force?

i used reds on different corsair keyboards for like 3/4 years before getting browns a couple days ago and I dont really notice a huge difference in how it feels to type. i just feel the lil bump which i dont mind and the difference in activation force isnt too noticeable for me

edit: actually im seeing on google that they have the same activation force so that makes sense that i dont notice anything

Reds and browns are almost the same aside from browns having tactile feedback (I say almost because as I understand it the actuation force is actually a bit higher on browns). What having tactile feedback means is there is an extra "click" that you can feel once the switch is activated. If you can find somewhere to demo two similar keyboard with different switches side by side what I'm talking about will become obvious really quickly. I prefer browns because I like that feedback when typing but really it's personal preference.

Browns are similar to reds but have a bump where the key actuates. the bump is silent unlike blues, which produce a click where the actuation point is. If you're used to bottoming keys out when you type/game, then maybe the browns aren't going to be for you. But if you're used to going just enough to where the key actuates and not all the way down, you may end up enjoying browns.

Also unless you know for sure that you're going to be using your number pad a decent amount, get a tenkeyless keyboard. I know I use my number pad for the frequent amount of math homework that I need to do for university but I would feel better if I got a standalone usb numberpad and put it out of the way from where my keyboard regularly is so that when I'm gaming I don't have to adjust my posture to compensate for where my number pad is on my keyboard.

if you were looking at a red switch corsair strafe, have you considered the k70 or k65 by corsair? The k70 is basically the same thing as the strafe but with a slightly different design and the k65 is a tenkeyless variant of that. However if you don't mind looking into other brands, look into ducky and wasd keyboards, the shine keyboards by ducky are pretty well rated and should come in the cherry mx switch that you desire, as well as the wasd keyboards although I'm not as familiar with wasd keyboard models as I'd like to be. Will edit this later with what I end up finding through some research, although I'm not entirely sure if shipping costs will be a factor since I live in the US

When looking on the wasd website about their keyboards, what they're asking for is clearly out of your price range, so that's a no go. $150 and $145 for the full size and tenkeyless variants respectively is certainly out of your price range after currency conversions. On corsair's website for the k65, it came in at $90, which after googling what that is in euros, will put you a few euros above your max budget.

Note: I ended up getting frustrated by just seeing the mainstream brand names, so I went to this website, searched for TKL mechanical keyboards and set the price range from lowest to highest. Keep in mind though that the search results include keyboards that have cherry mx knockoff switches, which certainly drives the cost of a mechanical keyboard down. However, I have no knowledge of how these switch clones work outside of the razer keyboard keyswitches since I own a blackwidow ultimate 2014 and have come to hate any form of clicky keyboard switch, despite razer making a nice effort to design a mechanical keyboard switch exclusively for gaming, which actuates sooner.

Currently when looking at the ducky one listings on this website, the listings are also at $90, similar to the k65 from corsair but come in all white or all black variants. Looking into the razer blackwidow tournament edition with razer's orange switches (these are similar to browns but with an actuation point that's closer to the top of the keyboard), I found this on amazon which also comes with free shipping. A conversion of the advertised $70 to euros actually lands under your budget bounds. I'm going to do some research on amazon to see if any of the other keyboards I was looking at had reduced prices similar to what I had found with the blackwidow tournament stealth.

Final edit (hopefully): after some research on amazon of the keyboards I was looking at primarily, the only ones that had reduced prices were the blackwidow tournament stealth and the corsair k65. Everything else was either out of your price range or not available. You could still get a ducky one for a nice price on mechanicalkeyboards.com. Hope this helps you with your decision!!
