Would probably be worthwhile gathering some info on what people deem to be "problem" weapons before the meeting so you can get down to business right away. Dunno where you'd do that because as you say this thread would turn to shit if we did it here.

From what I understand from this is that they are giving has a understanding on why they ban / unban specific weapons. Which would create less confusion in the community. I think .

Anything that adds transparency and democratic consensus is a step in the right direction. The further we distance ourselves from popular sovereignty, the more serious the community will be able to take itself; thus outsiders may begin to take us more seriously as well.

Streaming the discussion seems fine. I want people to be able to understand the justifications for the decisions made. When the first draft of the whitelist is posted the community can pick it apart at that time.

I think streaming would be fantastic. The "public" won't interfere with the actual discussion, and they will still be able to talk about it amongst themselves- and more of the "public" will tune in. It would also be very visible to valve (onus on those with connections to make sure they know when to tune in!!) so they'd get a lot of amazing feedback about their weapons without having to talk to us directly. Another benefit is that anybody can view the vod later.

The meeting has people from all continents, so we just do it at a time that works for those involved. We'll make sure the VOD isn't muted so you can watch it back later.

This is just my opinion, but could you create a list of weapons that absolutely need to be banned at the top level of play, and then have others vote on other weapons which, while less powerful, are still cancer to play with/against? I understand that this would have the negative impact of people voting who aren't really experienced enough, but I still feel that the community in general should have a bit of say, because, other then for the purposes of transparency, what purpose does recording a VOD serve? I mean, we won't be able to contest a ruling made in said VOD, nor will most people have direct access to someone participating in the discussion to have their thoughts heard. This may not be what you guys intend to do, but I feel that voting for weapons could have the impact of making community more involved in their game.

In the new Trump era I think NA should have it's own whitelist and everyone else can only play with the unlocks banned by NA. Moreover to prevent further fucking with NA 6v6 I propose a "Valve wall" permanently blocking all new unlocks from NA.
