I'd like to see what people actually think. Select the weapons/items you want. Not selecting an item assumes you want to ban it.

While we're at it i'd like to ask is the base jumper really that big of a deal? when the enemy is floating in the air like that he's basically a sitting duck right?

ah yes

a gamemode designed to be the fastest and most skill-based form of tf2 possible should include a dumb weapon that makes enemies move slower and also makes a tanky class even tankier.

airstrike creates unstoppable soldier bombs practically and the airstrafing with that thing is actually retarded

That's assuming you can get 4 kills in one life with the air strike
base jumper + airtrike bombs should be easily counterable, smaller explosion radius + stationary target, if you just run away while denying him he won't be able to do anything

[EDIT: after some thinking i retract my claims on the air strike ban it lol it's not designed very well]

Ok air strike is debatable
but i think the BASE jumper should definitely be allowed, i personally think it's pretty balanced and will open up new play styles

Have u seen the wiggles people who are good with the base jumper do? Its fucking impossible to hit them and infuriating to fight with anything not hitscan.

You really don't actually understand how fast you can strafe around when you have your parachute activated. It starts slow but if you just wiggle your way you start to go really fast, it's not actually easy to airshot + if the soldier just high bombs you can only really chip him while he provides a constant threat and distraction without really being able to be properly shut down. It's overpowered and isn't fun to play against at all.

We allowed it for like a week or something it was fucking insanely stupid and nobody had anything positive to say about it.

Rangering your gun to different spots and rebuilding it isn't necessarily better than just going back to scout or soldier and stopping the cap. Jarate is frustrating. Loch n load is objectively worse, gunslinger is for idiots, cow mangler is a side grade. Everything else is fine. I agree! At the same time, I wanted people to properly evaluate each weapon and come to terms with whether they really think something should be allowed; rather than work on assumptions that all items were made in a way that offers interesting, balanced, skillful mechanics and strategies etc

My idea for balancing jarate is to divide the soaked time by the amount of players hit. For example, if I hit 4 players with 1 jarate jar, they would each have jarate on them for 2.5 seconds. Please tell me if I'm dumb, but i think this is alright.

Edit: same concept with mad milk

2nd Edit: Also for the machina, if valve made the rate of fire and/or reload time slower, then I think it would be more ideal and fit the playstyle that most 6s sniper use, which is to just charge up and and go for one pick. At the same time, its downsides may make another player not use it, making it kinda balanced.

Ofc these are going to have to be made by valve. :(
