I remember when this fad came out in the 90's. I'll admit that my friends and I did shave our legs once to see what it was all about and it was fucking terrible. The shaving process was terrible, the feel of the wind hitting my bare legs with no hair must be what a sheep feels after he gets sheared. Not to mention the horrible sight of all our shiny sparkling legs and the itching. I wouldn't go so far as to label anything "gay" in this day and age but after that first time we did it back in the 90's, anyone we saw with shaved legs we assumed wasn't chasing vagina.
