How is everyone? Hope the community is well. What's new in TF2 land? Do you think the level of skill has decreased over time or is it still evolving into bigger and better players?
I'm doing well. Haven't had much time to game so i've been doing up single player games when I have the time.. Mainly the witcher 3 lol. Love that friggen game.
Has the emergence of overwatch really hurt the quality/size of the competitive scene?

Yes and no, for the competitive player base I can say definitely yes, and it did somewhat hurt the casual scene as well, but playerbase statistics is still a solid slightly above 50k, but the month of overwatch tf2 player stats tanked hard.

It definitely hurt the quality of the competitive scene. A lot of experienced players left so the overall quality in prem/invite dropped, however the last two LANs were a blast to watch.

i think that the eu prem teams seem to actually be stepping up to meet the challenge of 7. a few weeks ago you wouldnt give champ.gg a hope in hell of even being close, but theyre running them pretty close in scrims from time to time
and yeah, the last two lans were incredible to watch, and certainly not low on quality

We always did have a strong community. Hopefully the next tf valve releases we see a lot of the old players come back as well.

Turbo said that he's been doing 4-5 hours of MGE a day and Champ have been doing very well vs se7en etc.
Also Arctic Foxes have shocky carry.
