There are these options that say power4gear High Performance and power4gear saving in my power options on my laptop. Whenever I plug my laptop in, it defaults to the p4g HP and unplgging it goes to p4g Saving. What's the difference between the power4gear options and the regular High Performance/saving options and which high performance is better?

There are these options that say power4gear High Performance and power4gear saving in my power options on my laptop. You can see the details to the presets if you go to advanced power options in control panel. The settings aren't that much different from the stock Windows high performance and power saving presets, in that power saver limits CPU and other hardware performance to save battery.
On a side note I'm surprised your P4G on your laptop makes that preset switch automatically, because on my laptop it always stayed on "entertainment" mode and if I ever changed it, would revert back to that same mode if I restarted my computer, so I just set it to have the maximum performance when plugged in and save for a few settings (USB port suspension, wifi adapter performance limitation, etc.) I dimmed the screen and limited some hardware performance.
