Hello, I got a second monitor right, and usually I have used the fullscreen option; however, everytime I would use something else on the second monitor the game would tab out.
I have tried the windowed borderless and now it is perfect; however, I was just wondering if fps would decrease because of that?
Thanks and sorry for making a thread!

FPS shouldn't decrease by a lot, but it will cause slight input lag.
(If I'm wrong and you know more feel free to correct me)

depends on how good your pc is, anyway you can minimalize possible effects by disabling aero and all other windows visual effects
if you don't feel like there is an input lag or unplayable fps you should stick to it

if you're on windows 8 or above borderless windowed mode causes some extra input lag
if you're on windows 7 and have disabled aero there shouldnt be any extra input lag
framerates are slightly lower on windowed borderless no matter what you do, though, but it's barely noticeable (like 210 vs 220)

From my own experience; on borderless I get input lag. Used it for ages and then switched to fullscreen and there was a very noticeable difference. Never noticed any fps differences though.

tldr when you use windowed borderless, DWM is handling your game being drawn on your screen, which is the desktop compositor. it waits for every other application (even if there are none) before pushing a frame, and there's always a bit of overhead as it re-renders the frame before displaying it. this causes inherent input lag, but the amount varies from system to system, and for some combinations of people/systems, it isn't noticeable.
in theory you should not have a lower framerate, in reality you might slightly because the GPU prioritizes your application slightly less since it's also rendering DWM's re-render while still trying to render the game. the input lag is the noticeable part though, and unfortunately it's kind of hard to measure.

I just realized I prefixed the longest post in this thread with "tldr"
