I don't think that there's many things that most people can bring up without coming off as an entitled baby (i.e. the "why isn't this free service better and covering more games" scenario) but I'll give it a shot anyways.

The "We won't bother streaming matches between non-playoff teams vs. top 2-3 teams because they're most likely going to be a roll" thing makes sense, considering that it takes a lot of organization to do production that is up to the standards of TF.TV, but why not let other people who would be down to cast/freecam around the map stream these matches on TF.TV's second channel? The production doesn't have to be as sharp as usual, and it won't make some weeks feel so empty when it's a new invite team facing Froyo/EVL.

Personally, I like watching casts because 99% of the time the people doing the actual casting are very knowledgeable of the game's mechanics, and it's helpful insight to any player trying to improve their gamesense and team skills, even if it wouldn't be as useful as other closer matchups (due to how likely it is for rounds to go by quickly because of the disparity in overall team skill).

That being said, this is not a complaint, but instead it's more of a suggestion that I'm sure has already been done in the past. You guys (production team) are already pulling a lot of strings trying to put up a good show for a game that we all enjoy but offers very little back in comparison. I really liked the number of different casters that showed up last season, and other than STV issues and lack of communication, it was pretty enjoyable.

Thanks for everything: producers, casters, commentators, analysts, writers, video producers & other folk I could be missing out.

what lyreix said would be good. obviously i can see the worry in tftv handing out their stream key, but it would be cool for the channel to be willing to host anyone who wants to cast games when their isnt a formal cast. I know its something that I've talked about with some of my friends that show interest.

Why do a lot of tf2 casters do that thing where they try to sound hyped/excited whilst still trying to contain their voice? It's very unsatisfying to listen to and it gives me a suffocating feeling irl.

Also i've said this before in other threads, but sometimes the third person camera angles are terrible. One shot that saam used pretty often was a third person bug's eye view shot, and it was so unsatisfying and triggering it made my neck hurt irl because i felt like i was lying on the ground looking up at all these fucking players and shit.

I know it's a different game but it just shows you how much a caster can have an impact on the hypeness and the overall feeling of the game. And if you don't think this element of casting is important, you would be deeply mistaken because this is what makes competitive so enjoyable to watch and would be able to draw many more new players watching casted matches.

A lot of people don't take into account that these games happen at night and can carry on very late. A lot of caster cannot get "hyped" because they are living with other people trying to sleep.

At least when I casted the esea gfs I didn't sign up to talk for 3 hours and I couldn't speak very loudly due to it being midnight to 3 on a weekday. I just filled in last minute because Marxist was busy the following morning.

To try and fix the issue the grand finals could be scheduled on 2 different days if there is a bracket reset.

Edit: the main issue with hosting channels for non casted games is that tftv is trying to have a professional stream and they cannot control how people act on their own streams with language or professionalism

I know its hard sometimes because of the rumors that show up on forums, but it would be nice if invite teams did a better job of keeping their roster moves discreet and TFTV did a better job of reporting them in a timely matter. Every roster update post for the last few years has just been way late after everyone already knew the roster change that was happening, not entirely TFTV's fault but would be nice if they were the first line of contact with that stuff. It kinda loses its merit after a while if they are always old news

For the most part that kind of stuff usually gets out at least to a decently small group relatively quickly, not saying its impossible but probably unreasonable for tftv to literally be the first that hear about these things. There are definitely exceptions to this though, for example at ESA when I learned in the car ride back from the airport that muma was playing for 20b and not my open team lol.
