Hey what's up. So, I have a problem so that I can't run above 100 fps (max, normally it's 60-80) on native res (1920x1080). This doesn't change at all with switch from Chris's high quality to max frames. Help?

Assuming you don't have fps_max set to 100 it sounds like your CPU could be a bottleneck.

Have you tried the other common things such as lowering resolution, cleaning out your computer, etc? Since FPS configs don't show any positive change, I think tooth might also be right.

I consider lowering resolution a last resort, I'll try cleaning it out now, hopefully its nothing bout my pc, because it is a laptop :3

Got ccleaner pro, that should fix any issues with my computer itself.

ccleaner is a great program, but I would also defrag (steam/tf2 files but also your computer), verify cache, clean your HDD of stuff you no longer need (even if you have plenty of space), and run a scan for viruses just in case (from your AV and malwarebytes too)

Make sure you have the right power plan selected when you play games. If you're on Balanced or Power Saver your CPU will down clock and kill your fps.
Also, make sure Intel Turbo Boost is enabled. This might be in the BIOS or it might be in some Intel or Dell settings application inside Windows, but even if your CPU isn't getting down clocked 2.4 GHz is still pretty slow.

I had the AMD equivalent of this turned on and it was actually the cause of my FPS problem (normal fps for about 10 minutes then would drop significantly for 1-2 minutes and repeat). Turning it off stopped my FPS from ever dropping like that again.

2. go to advanced system settings
3. go to performance
4. select adjust for best performance
This literally gave me 40 fps on my tf2. Makes every thing real smooth and I like the look but most others don't really.

Kirby, are you sure it wasn't AMD Cool and Quiet? That lowers clockspeeds to reduce heat without increasing fan noise.
