We were all new at some point.

If people want others to stop being toxic and driving away new players, there need to be actual consequences for shittalking or raging at someone (I mean in pugs/lobbies). It's all well and good to say 'lets all agree not to be toxic it hurts the community and new players etc, etc.' but without punishments like temp/perma bans, this problem will continue.

Also, don't pick someone up for your team if he's known to be a toxic scumbag, for one ur team will probably be dead within the week and two now ur known as the guy who has [insert scumbag here] on ur team.

It's not about that. I surely hope that no one is actively trying to be mean to anyone. But the ones that do some mistake or are just bad overall sometimes gets to be shit talked. Shit talking doesn't help anyone, the player won't get better just because of it.

Yeah, that's the other way to look at it, but I am referencing to the shit talking that won't help players get better, ie. no tips at all just shit talking.

I don't really care if someone shit talks just for himself. It's bad if they actually tell it to the player. And the worst thing is "you died again?!". It feels bad to realize that you are starting to do things you hate, but its possible to stop it. Make a sticky note "Don't blame others for your mistakes" and hang it on a monitor so you will always see it. Or at least that's what I would do if I wanted to stop doing something. The more you think about not doing it the less you do it. And don't forget to say sorry, such a small word can change someone's idea about you, don't overuse it tho.

It's hard to prove someone was shit talking/raging to an admin unless you have a recording of such behavior. A bunch of people that played with a player that they didn't like could go out of their way and lie to an admin about it and make someone get a ban. Or at least that's what I get from my experience.
