Very off topic, but is anyone on here in 1st year sixth form and doing AS Maths?
If so, did you sit C1 today, and how did you find it?
Personally I thought it was ridiculously harder than usual, and looking back at the past papers they look so easy in comparison.
I know there probably won't be many people this thread applies to, but any replies are cool
edit: my board is wjec

It was almost as bad as last year tbh. Some years of C1 were really easy, but this year wasn't
I just hope the other papers arent as bad

I thought it was pretty alright. I guess I'll post my % when I get it.

if the exam is that much harder the boundaires should be significantly lower, so hopefully you dont get shafted

I got A's on all my mocks and have been smashing solomon papers for like 2 weeks
That paper was mas harder than any solomon paper or the 2016 paper, it was easy except some questions which threw me off big time

I'm in 2nd year but my friends retaking were saying the AQA one was a lot harder than usual. Hopefully C3 and C4 won't be so bad.

I did the AQA C1 paper today, it was horrible but I think I did alright. It was harder than any previous paper imo but that seems to be the trend for all the modules I have done.

Wasnt the C1 AQA paper last year like criminal, college had people walking out the exam in tears (might be a different exam board)

AQA C1 was nasty last year too, I just about scraped an A but my friend who was predicted an A got a C.

Did aqa c1...based on a third party mark scheme I got like ~80%. Lots of my peers said they changed their answer or went back over the question because the numbers were weird for a non calculator paper (one answer was like 1.5x to the power of 2.5).

I thought AQA last year was awful, most of the people in my class got a D out of nearly 30 students i think (2 classes were merged together because one of the maths teachers taught the wrong stuff/just didn't teach very well, can't remember). I just outright failed, thought it wouldn't be too tough after getting an A at GCSE. A ton of people also outright dropped the subject after the first year, easily one of the worst exams. Our 6th form also had a few people crying, and they were the ones who were good at the subject.

SomeGuy...
Yeah our college was pretty pissed in general. Some on A's got C's so a shit tonne resat. Pretty sure the college emailed the exam board complaining and its not like were a bad college either but the C1 was rock solid.

I think I may be the only one to have done wjec here, but looking back at other past papers it's kind of like they just did all the same types of questions but with stupid numbers and then added some weirdly worded questions that just take ages to come up with a solution for / picture

I hate questions like that, not really testing ability. Atleast its not biology where you can get the same question year to year but the mark scheme changes...
Good luck in the rest of your AS levels (if you have any more modular exams) hoping my A levels come out good.

AQA, can tell you from experience it's not the knowledge of the course that's hard but rather how the questions work, but don't change your options based on this choose your options based on career choice, I hate biology but I need it. And looking st a few mark schemes gives you the ability to get full marks still you just combine the answers from the two mark schemes.
OCR psychology is by far my hardest A level due to the content amount, if you're good at logic and maths then chemistry is good:)
