So recently while mid scrim with Sparkle Gang, my ping spiked to a constant 220 which is unusual since I haven't had ping issues in a long time. After restarting my router and comp, I started up TF2 and realized that it was only chicago servers I have 220 ping to, others my normal 15 ping. Anyone had this issue before?

Sounds like a routing issue, they might be sending you through a really weird hop. contact yr isp. Send them a tracert and as much info about your connection as you can
For the tracert, do this:
windows key + r
"cmd"
in the window "tracert [ip to any chicago server]"

this past season uber had absolutely terrible routing to chicago servers (constant 120 ping) while he lives in louisiana, but whenever we played on a colorado server he had less than 50 ping
we all chalked it up to terrible esea routing, but it's more than likely an isp thing

I'm having a similar problem. Again, only to Chicago and its anywhere between 160 to 220 ping. Dyl4n, what's you're ISP? You with one of the big two?

happened to me and delpo as well, its probably just a canada thing we're both with rogers

Okay so zilly and I share the exact same issue with the same provider. After watching my team scrim with a ringer my ping went down to 30, but I am unsure if it will raise again tomorrow. Maybe just a rogers issue?

Probably the cables rogers is using. I'm not with rogers, but my ISP is using roger cables. My ping took a while to get back down (mid pug), but it did eventually drop.
