Variety. Even in the rigid class set of 6s, every time I switch what I'm playing for a team it gives me a crazy different perspective. I've gotten a change to main every class for a full season, and it's been an insane amount of fun.

On top of airshots and movement, the amount of customization that one person can do to alter the appearance of their game from custom huds to configs and custom crosshairs

When you're feeling anxious offclassing on sniper because you haven't hit anything and you get frustrated and jump through choke and drop the med, just the best feeling.

Hmm. Just bought a key from marketplace.tf for like 2 bucks and ended up unboxing a 180 key unusual, guess that's kinda cool

Coordinating with your team to accomplish a push/hold. The feeling you get when a situation comes up your team has been talking about/reviewing/working on and your team executes well. It's so satisfying.

Doing it against competent(invite) players feels 10x better too.

No other "gaming" experience comes even close to it.

I've played the game for 1300 hours according to Steam. I greatly enjoy the learning. Any time I play, I am pretty much guaranteed to learn new things, or at least consider strats/situations/options which I hadn't before. I am of the impression that this will be the same after 3000 hours, after 5000 hours, after 10000 hours, and so on.

The game has solid core mechanics; most of the times I die, it's my fault. Maybe I could have dodged better; maybe I committed too far without being aware of where my team was or where the enemy was; maybe I made a poor weapon choice. Sure, there are many silly and cheap gimmicks in this game, but at the center is a great game.

Finally, TF2 has something that is difficult to articulate. The game has a way of making people love it. There is such a dedicated community surrounding it; why? I don't know what it is (I probably haven't played enough to come to the truth of the matter), but after more than ten years, here is TF2, fighting the good fight.

I love being in charge of a team and maincalling. Putting it all together makes winning so much more enjoyable.

This combination of movement, aim, prediction and gamesense, I feel like no other game can bring this experience so far.

I love my friends I've made, i love seeing the progress i made from when I first started playing to now, I love how helpful most of the community is and how, for the most part, everyone is patient and supportive of each other, I love that this game still feels exciting after 4 years almost, I love that the community still plays this game after 10 years and there are still new people who wanna play and get good. I love Team Fortress 2.
