Things started glitching out a few months ago, and it's been getting on mah nerves recently

So let's start with the main menu:

This is the main problem: text just keeps on disappearing everywhere so it's just empty now.
But occasionally, text reappears when I restart the game for whatever reason:

I've noticed that the text may appear, but the tf2 "comic" style font never comes back for some reason

And on the loading screen:

same thing: missing text + font

text around the game, such as the casual gamefinder thing, ingame timer, hp/ammo reserve, etc., are also sometimes missing, so its kinda annoying to play like that

and yes, i've reinstalled the game, verified game cache, that type of crap you would find everywhere
i'm also not that tech savvy, so it might just be something easy to find that i'm too stupid to know
