Hi
I finally decided to play on more competitive environment, and I'd like to play pick up games
I've no real comp experience, so is either TF2Center or PugChamp Open better for me, or is there some other alternative?

If you truly have zero comp experience then you can play a bit of TF2Center to get a feel for the class that you want to play in a 6s setting. Besides that the site is not worth your time.

Your only other option are inhouse pugs, just ask a few ppl on your friends list and tell them that you're new and want to improve, they are usually pretty understanding and they might invite you in the future.

Other than that I would recommend you get on a team asap. The new season is starting later this month and there are always teams looking for new players. Playing in a team is by far the best and quickest way to improve, and it's of course also a lot of fun.

tf2center until you learn whats actually going on and what to do etc. You'll only get drama or you wont get picked at all if you jump straight into pugchamp

Pugchamp is alright in terms of having resemblance to competitive but you probably won't get picked.

TF2Center has no such resemblance and is closer to a 6v6 pub and is filled with aidslords who think they are good.

Try to merc for open teams and join one and see if you can join any mixes.

Most of people on my friend list are either casual players or casual players who like watching comp

I agree, but I'm worrying about my schedule; I'm not sure about comp schelude, and I worry that it might interfere with my school. And even if it does not, I don't think my parents would like me spending time on comp videogames at school days
