So ill just be sitting here, in game and not in game. And my mouse will suddenly stop moving, and then it will lag behind. And in-game it will lower my sensitivity to an extreme amount for a couple of seconds and then revert back to normal. Any ideas?

I get a lot of issues with my mouse being inconsistent and weird quite often. I seemed to have fixed it for now by unplugging my mouse, spraying the bottom with dust-off and then lightly spraying the sensor area. Seems to have fixed my issue for now. Give it a shot and see if it helps at all.

Try getting all the latest updates for windows. I had a different (but equally odd) mouse issue a couple years ago. A windows update fixed it.
Did you try totally uninstalling your mouse drivers and then try using it without drivers?
Try that, or a crappy old mouse that doesn't need drivers (just make sure you uninstall the mouse drivers first) and see if it still does it.

The mouse came with setpoint but setpoint wouldnt recognize the device so it wouldnt work. So i was stuck using logitech gaming software. And the problem didnt start only after i started using LGS, it was about a week or 2 after it began.

Logitech gaming software is setpoint with the newer version. I had the same problem with my old g500 and I could never find out what the issue was. You could try to downgrade setpoint to an older version, just find which is most stable specifically for the g500.
The reason that I am saying that is the "gaming software" is unifying software and sometimes older hardware will get screwed up from newer updates.

i had a similar problem with my old mx518. it ended up being a faulty wire that would cause the laser to cut out. basically had to call logitech to get a replacement but i instead just bought a new g400

Try disabling the per-game profiles or whatever they're called in Logitech Gaming Software. I remember that causing weird issues with the G500.

My MX518 used to do that all the time with setpoint, but since they changed it to gaming software or whatever I haven't noticed it happen. weird that it's the opposite issue you have
