Burnsiders will be (mostly) driving down. Looking forward to seeing you all and having a fun tournament. I'll be playing Soldier and helping out with production duties as I can.
It'll be tough doing a winners interview with b4nny right after the Burnsiders lose to Froyo in the grand finals but god damn it I'll do it.
Shout out to our sponsors - I Like It Nerdy Esports Arcade, Stormbreaker Brewing, Tree House Collective, Antlion Audio, and 24th and Meatballs.
We'll be bringing some "Hop It Don't Drop It" with us, a beer brewed for us in direct collaboration with our sponsor Stormbreaker Brewing.
We should also have hats.
HMU if you're interested in a case of 22oz bottles and we'll negotiate a price. We're only gonna have so much room, but then again, if there were enough interest we could get a Van just to haul more beer.

I believe we're still getting that set up, but I'll wait for ESA's offical confirmation once we figure out all the details first
Trying to come up with cool incentives and all.

3 months out is the standard as the cheapest rate you will find for US flights, which is why waiting until 6 weeks out is pretty shit.

The qualifier on Friday is going to make it more difficult to attend than last year, where matches were only on Saturday and Sunday. Oh well. I didn't need to make responsible decisions anyway.

I really do think the tournament format needs to be revised. There are a lot of high caliber teams attending this LAN and a lot of people are going to be travelling very very far to potentially only play 2 games. It doesn’t seem like the smartest way to get everyone playing a lot of games and still have the exciting invite group at the end of it, not all of us are going to be wanting to just spectate the end of the LAN.
A really good idea brought up in the rewind discord by phelon
what about just dropping open playoffs and doing groups + playoffs? or is that too time consuming? maybe have the 4 invited teams in a single group where all 4 teams move up, placement determines seeds 1-4
This way everyone could play a group stage and then most could play playoffs while leaving the originally invited teams intact. I think a lot of people would be more in favour of more guaranteed games considering the caliber, size and investment of time and money to attend.

hey!
do you:
1.) live in any of the areas pictured here?
2.) intend to drive a car to the rewind lan?
if so, let me drive to you and give you possibly hundreds of dollars in return for taking me with you -- so i dont have to pay triple that number to fly!
pros:
-hundreds of dollars
-gas and food/snack money
-good smelling person who wont steal from you
-light packer
cons:
-snore
pick me up on your LAN-driving team today!

Tournament format won't be changing. On top of that a lot of presumptions are being made on the first limited bit of information. Open teams will be guaranteed 7 matches.

aThe action will center around a tournament featuring some of the top teams in the world. On Friday, the event will begin with an open qualifier, where 14 open teams will compete against each other to advance to the main event alongside the 4 to-be-announced invited teams.
is there a cap of 14 teams?
