Just got ACL and Meniscus surgery done on Tuesday. In a lot of pain and wanted to talk to someone thats gone through the process or just wants to distract me because the oxy they gave me doesnt do shit and it feels like my knee is exploding from the inside.
Talk to your doctor, tell them your pain meds arent working
I had knee surgery a couple years ago for a tibial tuberosity fracture (google it if you want). Was in a wheelchair for a couple months and took copious amounts of painkillers (which also didn't always help), but it does get better don't worry. Try and find things that you can do which will keep your mind off the pain. For example, I started doing a ton of crosswords and logic puzzle type stuff and that helped a bunch, or you could find a new TV/Netflix show to get into. Just remember that you'll now have cool scars to talk about for the rest of your life
if i have a toothache and i'm sitting doing nothing it hurts like hell, but if i'm playing tf2 i barely notice it. hopefully that phenomenon scales up, good luck
SpadesHow'd you end up needing surgery

Skiing accident over Christmas break :/ it was a couple days before new years and I was very stupidly not close to sober.

Self medicating with weed has been pretty good, opiods of any sort scare the shit out of me so im prolly just gonna stick to this and stop being a bitch.

as my wrist got repaired with metal plates etc. in 2012, I just focused on things I can do / not pay attention to the pain, worked pretty well.
i had surgery on my meniscus and mcl three years ago and honestly it hurts a ton even with meds so don’t take even more oxy than prescribed no matter how badly it hurts because you will get hooked very very fast
you'll get through this, dude. please be careful not to develop a dependency on your painkillers. its easy and had me fucked over for a couple years.
Just watched an ACL surgery video on youtube, holy fucking shit am I glad I watched that after and not before.
the injury that made me stop playing ball had me on oxys, they'll ruin you bro stick to the weed for sure, i wish i did. to this day i still have trouble when i dont have them.
