It's happening to pretty much everyone I asked (including me) who had the update the other day.
Most likely not launch seeing as mine are only -novid -w 1920 -h 1080

Holy shit. I thought this problem was just me. you could always just play in borderless windowed mode helps slightly if you want quicker alt tabbing for the mean time until this gets fixed (presuming that it does get fixed). Though you might have to deal with a little bit of lag input which honestly isn't too bad tbh.
