As the postseason grind progresses for this season's top four Invite teams, the first round upper bracket games have come and gone.

Playoffs kicked off with New God Flow's encounter against current Invite titans froyotech. Though they were able to secure a few rounds in each map, the power of frozen desserts prevailed 2-0, leaving a sour taste in New God Flow's Fiji bottles and another tally on froyotech's seemingly unstoppable win streak.

On the other side of the bracket, Velocity eSports went toe to toe with Ascent, who made quick work of Velocity in another two map sweep. Despite not having played the map in the regular season, Ascent pulled off a swift 5-0 victory on Snakewater. Coming back with a speedy 3-0 half on Gullywash, Velocity were once again met with an impassable mountain, as Ascent came back and won the next five rounds in convincing fashion.

Now Velocity and New God Flow find each other face to face, fighting at the brink of elimination from Invite playoffs. Trading blows and taking one map each on each other during the regular season, this looks to be one of the closest matchups of the season.
