TF2 EXTREMELY laggy in the menus

TF2 is lagging HORRIBLY in the menus and every time i open the menu the in game FPS goes down a bit.

Using a hud with a custom main menu seems to fix this. Weird.

it's the friends list, that things causes so much lag as #3 said. there was a thread somewhere that showed how to remove it in some file in the hud but i forgot where and it makes me sad :(

Go into resource/ui/mainmenuoverride.res and delete the whole "FriendsContainer" portion
