Could have gotten some cheaper RAM. The stuff I suggested went up $15 since I posted. Probably not worth the hassle of canceling the order or returning it now, though.
Everything's here but the SSD and the case. Was hoping to get it all here so I could build over the weekend but oh well. I do have a question though - I get about .5dl speed at best - so re-downloading all my games would be a pain (it would take weeks. on my laptop I always did downloads when I visited a friend out of town). I do have an external harddrive. What files do I need to move onto that and where do I put them once I have steam on the new computer? I'm thinking I just want to move the most basic part so I can do a clean, new install on the computer.
Some people swear by the technique of ripping out the entire steamapps folder and planting it in the new build after getting Steam installed. That makes me squirm and I've heard reports of it not working/failing to validate.
I just use Steam's built-in back up/restore tool to archive stuff. It will back up the game files into an archive on external storage (or anywhere you want to back up to) and you can use the same tool to restore the game once archived.
I think PlanetSide 2 doesn't work with the back up/restore tool, so watch out if you have that.

So I got the SSD today and was wondering why the case wasn't here (that's the one thing I can't start building without) and I looked at the order...apparently the case I ordered doesn't ship for 1-2 months. Not sure what's going on there, so I went ahead and cancelled that and ordered this one:
