since half life after fx already lets you do things like free camera with pov demos, is it possible to record an agr (AdvancedFX Game Recording) to then be able to import into blender, like with stvs?
Yes, this is how most modern tf2 videos are edited (although with both SFM and blender typically). Refer to antlers' tutorial here for recording agrs in tf2:

oh great, so I assume it doesnt matter whether its stv or pov.
another question if you know by any chance, if i record the agr from the point of view of a camera path i create, will the agr's camera movements track it? or just my firstperson point of view

if you do a mirv_camexport with it then it'll export whatever the game viewport sees, so it should export your campath as a BVH yeah. I would however question why you want to do that though as if you're recording an agr surely it's for the purpose of recording cinematics in a different engine etc anyway?
yeah, it is.
upon further thought maybe it wouldnt have much of a point yeah, since if im using a program like blender i could separate the camera from the player pov
anyways thanks for the info
