DX8 problem with nvidia

So as many of you know, DX8 is kinda messed up with all the white annoying lines that flash a lot in-game and the only way to fix it is by setting your video card drivers to 306.97. The thing is, it is really annoying to be updating the drivers every day because I don't know how to fully don't let my Nvidia control panel to not automatically update to the latest drivers since right not the game is fucked at dx8 after the driver update 306.97. If you know how, would appreciate tons.
