Genuine question and I am curious of what both the smarter and stupider people in the community think of this query.

What would have a greater impact on the flow of 6's, banning pyro or sniper?

Removing pyro allows for more efficient last pushes which in turn transitions to more midfights and then more last pushes.

However, removing sniper removes a key strategy to break multiple stalemates within the game whilst allowing people to not be concerned with pre-firing forward spawns when pushing.

The key to answering this question is to remember it's about the flow of the game. If you ban sniper, but every time you would pick sniper, a spy is picked instead and does the same job, the flow would not be altered so much, so keep that in mind when typing well thought out, detailed responses.

banning sniper. going spy isn't the same because he is countered by the complex strategy of Turning Around. if pyro were banned, people would go heavy or engie to have a similar amount of stalling.

I'm stupid but I feel like banning sniper would mean teams who rely too much on sniper would have to rely more on holding doors (on last holds), would have to do proper sacs or as you said use spy and people wouldn't have to wait 2 minutes for the sniper to take a proper shot (which sometimes never happens in livecasts)

As for " If you ban sniper, every time you would pick sniper, a spy is picked instead and does the same job, the flow would not be altered so much", you are correct but I believe spy is way more fun to watch than sniper as you have to sneak in and do some sort of distraction play beforehand, take your time with it and make sure you aren't noticed + even If there Is a spy people can still hold doors (and don't have to hug a wall and sacrifice vision). Once you make a mistake with spy you are 97% dead (sniper gets way less punishment) also It's pretty funny to watch spy players mess up and go for trickstabs to salvage whatever they can lol, so i don't think its really fair to compare spy to sniper as atleast a good spy player is counterable, but decent snipers feel like you just have to sit and pray and can output WAY more damage, I don't think pyro affects the flow of 6s as much as sniper does even on last because you don't really see pyros saving the last point that muuuch but its quite common to see snipers land a hero shot and drop the enemy medic

+i dont think its fair that in a game where most classes get obliterated once they make a slight mistake, there is a class that can get in absurd positions and still get away with it

Looking at the current map pool, I think the only maps you could argue for the pyro ban being more significant are gullywash and metalworks (and of the two I'm more confident in gullywash)

Sniper definitely. People actively run it outside of last. The class has such a big presence regardless of how good the player is that both teams are forced to adjust their entire game around it

pyro isn't even ran on every map but u can deploy sniper on any map given the right context

if you removed pyro from the game entirely it would have less impact than removing sniper from 6s
