FlutterbleakI am currently using an audio splitter as my laptop only has one audio jack,I would rule it down to this. If the jack on your laptop is a combo audio/mic jack and your just using a strictly headphone splitter then it doesn't support a microphone as well as the connections are different.
the 3.5mm plug on headsets (headphones+mic) will have 3 bands on it for the different connections and a 3.5mm plug for just headphones will only have 2 bands. If your splitters plug has 2 bands on it then it doesn't allow for a microphone to work.
alright, this seems to be the problem. Do you have any idea where i could get a mic/headphone splitter?
Thanks everyone for the help
hey guys, i recently got a zalman zm-mic 1 for my computer. Thing is, windows is not detecting it as a recording device (Yes, i have show disabled/disconnected devices checked). I am currently using an audio splitter as my laptop only has one audio jack, but even if I plug in the mic directly it does not display in the recording devices.
Specs:
lenovo thinkpad t530
intel core i7-3630QM @2.4 ghz
using an ssd if that matters
realtek hd audio drivers
all my drivers are up to date as well
Thanks!
