I just got an idea I think could be really nice for the game. A way to reward good players, so they just don't have to repeat and repeat a game without getting anything for it. To get you into it, I'll start with a storytime.
When I started TF2 for the first time, I had heard stories about Australium players. I have heard that they was disgustingly good at the game, and that it was impossible to beat them. Fair enough, I did believe it, and I simply just ended up running the fuck away when I encountered one.
Now as I am more experienced, I know this isn't always the case. People doesn't get australiums for their skilllevel. They get them for either: Luck or Money. People that has an australium is mostly traders or MvM players. Sure, there are some really skilled ones out there, but most of them aren't really above average since they spend most of their time in a trade server. This means that australium doesn't reflect anything else than a reskin of a weapon. It doesn't define the player.
So to get into my idea, there is this Hale's Own sort of thing when you get a spesific amount of kills on a strange weapon. What if we made it like that: [examples]
> If you get so many (kills) on a spesific weapon, you'll get a platinum version of it. Lets say you have to get about 20 000 kills with just 1 weapon. The weapon will be untradable. Now I also think you should remove the fact that people can just farm bots and shit on a server, so instead make it casual, competitive and (ETF2L, TF2center ...) and such, just so it just counts real kills.
> Winning a spesific amount of TF2 leagues.
> Getting insane frags (airshots, medpicks, dominations) in TF2center, ETF2L, etc (...)
Also, this weapon can give away a killstreak platinum eye effect or something. Something that is spesific to this weapon? Therefore, people got something to work for. So what do you think?

FUNKeFor every 1 combination that looks good, there's a dozen that looks terrible. The way equip regions work, there are not special cases for equip regions. Things that conflict are denied. A fix to this would require a bottom-up rewriting of the entire equip region with manual exceptions for every single item combination (or if nothing else, constantly be updated as per user request.) The exception is changing of certain item equip regions (changing hat only items to misc, for example) but otherwise valve really doesn't enjoy having to update items beyond changes the creator of the item contacts them specifically about updating.
In conclusion, don't get your hopes up.
You might be right, but there won't be a change if I don't do anything, so I'd take that chance.
gemmif you wanna let valve know your best bet is just an email to a tf2 staff member. you'd need to lookup the equip regions for hats and try to find a way to change them so it works better. i imagine they'd be open to simple equip region changes but i doubt they'd commit to implementing a new system or maybe even adding more (more precise) regions
as a sidenote i love loadouts that clip horribly so please dont fix any of them

Thanks for that. I've sent them a mail, so we'll see how long it takes for them to respond. I've given them some arguments of why they shall do it both simple, and make profit out of it. If they respond, and are willing to work on it, I'll find combinations that shall be allowed to be combined, and then it would be helpfull if you all could send me some cosmetics combinations you want ingame. Wish me good luck!
feryaeI just wish halloween items were usable all year just like festive ones :(
Yes, that would be cool in some situations, but it's also nice having something to look forward too. Still, some halloween items aren't even halloween themed.
There are literally so many cosmetics that fits perfectly toghter, but are still banned. This really limits the creativity you can do when making cosmetic loadouts, and often ends up: Be unoriginal or ugly. I just made this to show you an example: http://imgur.com/a/GRnyD
Sadly this old scout will never run trough the maps of TF2. Hes time is over before it ever began. Anyone knows a way to make Valve aware of this, and potentially fix it? There is quite a few cosmetics that should be able to be put toghter. If you know how to tell Valve, please tell. If you got some cosmetics you think shall be able to stack, you can also tell.
PS: Not really on topic, but this seemed like a nice place to post it, so I'll either get a ton of hate thrown at me, or some nice supportive people that could actually tell me what to do with this post if its posted wrong in any way.

What would it be? Can be everything from miscs to hats. You choose. You can even have an unusual if you'd like. Aslong as its just one item you will have to spend TF2 with, forever. The item can not be sold or anything, and you will be unable to purchase more items. So what would it be?
I choose the All Father.
-Note that this is just for fun. I'm currently dying of beeing bored.
ZanyThis was posted in the temporary hitsound depository thread after TF2 Dingalings went down and before hit.tf was created. They are all quality sounds and none of them are Tagg saying get toasted or random people screaming reeeeee.

Thats pretty great! Thank you!

The legendary b4nny hitsound, I see. I knew about that one, but was looking for something smooth. Thanks anyways. :)
wkbnhud
tlr xhair with horizontal pilot xhair only i think?
Thank you!
I'm looking for good hitsounds, but they are god damn hard to find. Most of them are just jokes, like orgasm sounds, or a youtuber screaming *I found ya niggah* and such, but is there actually something that is serious and that you can suggest? Like a BIIIP sound or a bell or something?
EDIT: >>REMOVED<<
Toblooks like you exec something using your class cfgs. Did you use tf2mate by any chance to make your config?
Open one of your class cfgs that casues the problem, look for crosshair related commands (or aliases. If it's tf2mate you're looking for commands like White, Dot, etc)
If you don't find any but there's commands like "exec x" take a look in x.cfg as well
Fire99% something in your class configs changing your crosshair.
if you want to look into it and actually fix it either look at the class configs yourself and try to find the error or post them here (in spoilers or pastebin/something similar pls) so we can look into it.
if you just want to get a fast fix you can type the following into your autoexec:this will essentially disable these commands for the session thus they cant be changed to the unwanted crosshair anymore.*YOUR DESIRED SETTINGS HERE* alias cl_crosshair_scale "" alias cl_crosshair_file "" alias cl_crosshair_red "" alias cl_crosshair_blue "" alias cl_crosshair_green ""
however i would recommend looking into your configs for the sole purpose of learning this stuff.
also if you use tf2mate then you probably have the crosshairswitcher enabled, its a huge mess of configs and i cba to look into it rn, tho if you happen to have it i can try to look into it and see if i can disable the switcher.
Thank you both for the help. I figured out the reason why this problem occured, since I created my autoexec.cfg folder while having this crosshair. Instead of changing the crosshair value for all classes (wich I am too lazy to do) I changed the crosshair value on my autoexec.cfg to:
cl_crosshair_red "0.000000"
cl_crosshair_green "255.000000"
cl_crosshair_blue "0.000000"
cl_crosshair_file "default"
cl_crosshair_scale "26.500000"
Currently working perfectly fine, so I'd give you both a thank you for your help! :)
EDIT: That first one ended up beeing just added when opening the main menu, so I had to change the value in every single class cfg. Still, it all works fine now as I've done that. :)
Yrrverify your game cache, looks like the sprites used on those lights are corrupted
Thanks alot! That worked. :)
