out of memory crash

Could you post more details about his system (RAM, CPU, ect.), and some monitoring information, such as task manager running to capture the RAM usage before and after this crash, windows version (could help?), and any other useful thing they have to pinpoint this error.
I unfortunately cannot help, but I'm sure people experienced with the source engine would be able to help.

also apparently he deleted the nodecg github which is pretty dumb
The maintainers have brought it back and are redeveloping it :)

look in your config files to see if TAB is bound to an alias that does that carnaticum said
usually, its bound to display the scoreboard, and then print out the timeleft in chat. You can revert this by unbinding TAB (or your key) and binding it to just display the score (+showscores, thanks hooli!)

edit: The cURL error 28 literally means that your site tried to perform a request using the cURL library but the specified timeout period was reached before getting a successful result for the request.
This probably means that your API key is invalid, the demostf server is not responding b/c of something, or your inbound connection got dropped somehow (?).
