leakyi think its converting all of our files to vpk's like l4d2. so all the huds will have to be stacked into a vpk, so hud makers will have to repackage them and update links i think.
edit: or its april fools joke :], or maybe the april fools joke is that its actually on the 20th and not the 23rd

I'm assuming it will help engine stability and reduce the amount of cache verifications you have to go through
Decreased load times with mechanical hdd's, if i remember correctly from a valve dev on spuf. And possibly a smaller TF2 install.

I've had a similar bug just not 3 exabytes/s, LOL.
I noticed the bug when Steam said BioShock Infinite's peak download rate was 14MB/s, which is 7 times my normal speed.
